Especially when you are coming from a third world country (in this case Dominican Republic) just having an interior design certificated diploma course instead of a degree or bachelor; how to get a job while just having this ? Or how to start (I know I gotta start from zero)…

All of this, of course, after becoming a LEGAL permanent resident. Not tricks to the US government. My fiance is American, and soon enough, we gonna get marry and I will move to the USA. I don’t want to live by receiving benefits from the Gov. I am studying hard before I’m going there so I can get a job, good enough, so Me and my Husband-to be could be able to support our family .

any advices? am I missing something here about the USA? isn’t that complicated or it is?

I married someone with 2 wonderful children. You guessed it, the ex-husband doesn’t pay child support. We know his mother isn’t doing very well health wise and I was wondering if she pass’ away will the courts some how step in and withhold back child support owed by him? Any suggestions ?

FYI:
We do well to support the childern without child support but this money isn’t to repay us or anything it is in fact the childrens money. To me, it’s like he’s stealing from his kids. We’d like to put that money into a car/college or mutual fund for them.

My husband is very doting to our daughter, as am I. I do not see why we should give her everything she wants and why she should think things come to her on a silver platter. My husband is very wealthy and wants to buy her the most expensive clothes and toys. I have seen kids like this and they do not appreciate the value of money. I want her to have nice things but you can buy pretty clothes which are so cheap and I want her to appreciate smalll gestures of the heart, instead of lavish spending. I want her to understand big presents will only be given at birthdays or christmas and I want her brought up a self respecting young lady who appreciates small gifts of the heart.

Every time my husband sees her he brings her expensive gifts and she says “Daddy, I love you and I really want a barbie doll” in a voice my husband can’t resist and next thing I know he buys her whatever her heart desires. I am more in tune with what she is doing then my husband and don’t give in as easily.
