I met dorte 40 years ago. We were so close even though we were just friends. Dorte had always had a dream of becoming the wife of a wealthy husband. That dream came true when she met Jorgen. My husband’s sister and her husband are extremely wealthy. We don’t seem to fit, and they only seem to want to know us to a certain point, but then get weird when we don’t want to come around since it’s kind of uncomfortable since they have everything (very fancy neighborhood and home, etc…) and we have not too much lol. We’re happy with what we have, but thinking about not spending time or speaking with them anymore since they are not very nice and personable.
For instance, we went to their house a few months ago and the first thing his sister did was have us go to our niece’s room and play (which was great for a while) but we ended up staying in their the entire 3 hours. She never offered us to sit in the living room or outside on their patio, and never offered a drink or anything. Does anyone else think that is strange behavior?
We think she doesn’t want us to know the “real” them, but rather just that her child know who we are. Does that make sense? Advice appreciated..

She claimed that anyone can get health insurance, and blamed the poor for not being covered. She acted like going to a hospital without insurance was a deliberate act of sabotage. She said that anyone can go out and get coverage via Medicaid or whatever. She calls herself a liberal and a Democrat and a feminist. When I explained that Medicaid doesn’t cover the poor in most states, she blamed the poor for not getting jobs that provide health insurance. She has herself worked at high-wage jobs and has a wealthy husband.
How could somebody who has no sense of equality or reality be called a feminist?

I currently go to an extremely exclusive salon in nearby Laguna Beach where Fernando, a homosexual master stylist, cuts my hair for approximately $150 per cut.
I got into a dispute with him last week over homosexual marriage (he is gay himself, I am not prejudiced against the folks because they make the best stylists), saying it will spell doom to society, and he told me that he could no longer cut my hair because being in my presence makes him feel uncomfortable. I use the credit card I jointly have with my wealthy husband and as money is no object for that quality of a cut. So I offered him as high as $500 each time he cuts it, but he still will not budge, saying this is an issue of principle, not money.
What can I do to make him change his mind? Am I allowed under California or federal law to file a discrimination suit against the salon for discriminating against me on the basis of being a Christian?
This is somewhat urgent seeing as in June there is Republican Party of Orange County Flag Day dinner featuring Rudy Giuliani and I want to be able to look as glam as possible. I have already paid $250 per ticket and there are no refunds.
