Especially when you are coming from a third world country (in this case Dominican Republic) just having an interior design certificated diploma course instead of a degree or bachelor; how to get a job while just having this ? Or how to start (I know I gotta start from zero)…

All of this, of course, after becoming a LEGAL permanent resident. Not tricks to the US government. My fiance is American, and soon enough, we gonna get marry and I will move to the USA. I don’t want to live by receiving benefits from the Gov. I am studying hard before I’m going there so I can get a job, good enough, so Me and my Husband-to be could be able to support our family .

any advices? am I missing something here about the USA? isn’t that complicated or it is?

I posted a question about spreading the wealth around just a few weeks ago, where someone answered:
If a man doesn’t want to work then neither let him eat. What kind of answer if that, for crying out loud. How is that supposed to be taken when people are losing their jobs every day.

Adults on welfare are often looked down on and considered lazy and taking advantage of the system. In comparison with those who hold jobs the percentage of those on state aid are still very low. Of those few, most have children who cannot be blamed for the situation they are in. Neither can many of those parents who have applied for jobs but are turned down or there are none available.

Jobs created within the midterm of the Bush administration were very low paying, many only part time with no medical benefits. The last few years the unemployment rate has soared which means those who did hold a job may have exausted their unemployment compensation and have no choice but ask for government assistance to help their families. A lot of those families have moved in with their parents because of the economy. It’s going to take more than just a few months to recreated jobs, so these families will have to either depend on the government or their families to help them out.

The link below goes back to 2004 with figures dating further back.

I have been one of the fortunate ones and hope I am never in that situation where I need Free handouts and want the wealth spread around because I’m lazy. If I was in that situation, I would really resent someone saying that to me.
Sad that some people seem to think this is what spreading the wealth around means.
Sorry it was so long, I was trying to explain why it made me angry since a lot of folks are in a bad situation right now.
Thanks for showing your compassion Hiya.
Paulywog, Exactly the point I made!!
Jen, a very few percent sit on their a***** because they don’t want to work.
How many here have looked around and noticed the unemployment figures, because no job openings or the Jobs are NOT there.
Yes Bub, a lot are too sick to work.
ver_jen: you go girl! That’s Christian compassion.
Teresa, I have noticed a few too. I work in a pharmacy.
Me h: I agree, that’s true in some cases.
Yazzy, I loved reading your essay.
Your knows guys and gals, there will always be someone who is dishonest, but all in all don’t you agree the majority who are physically and mentally able are willing to work and earn their wage.
That’s interesting Crunch, since the government has just allowed the biggest socialist bailout in history.
